Brookwood on the 8th July 2002

Basingstoke Canal’s Environment Agency Fisheries Officer, Andy Martin,

displays a fine 5lb tench which he caught  from Ash Flash on 16th June 2002

BCAA Head Bailiff  Jeff Bunch shows us he can catch a few fish.

This catch estimated at 40lb was taken at Mytchett one evening in August 2001.

All Jeff's fish were taken on pole and caster at 9 metres

Here it is.   The biggest bream in the Basingstoke Canal (so far recorded anyway),

caught by Carl Eland at Barley Mow.

It weighed 8lbs 4oz and as you can see Carl was rather pleased with his catch which totaled

13lb 8oz and won him the Lewis Harris Memorial Charity Match in Oct. 2001

Long-Time BCAA former Head Bailiff, Gary Goddard with a bat he rescued after it flew into

the canal whilst he was fishing. Shortly after this photo was taken the bat flew away unharmed

Whilst Gary was busy looking after bats, his wife Rachel Goddard  was busy catching

a 4lb 6oz Tench from Mytchett.

Gary Goddard can also catch a few fish when he puts his mind to it.

Here he is on the first day of the 2001 season.

Gary is seen here holding a 7lb bream together with 9 tench, part of an

estimated 50lb bag from Eelmoor Flash.

Here's a picture of the largest reported Pike of the 2000/2001 season.

It weighed 28 lb 4oz and was caught on ledgered Sprat on the canal at

Dogmersfield on 5th Nov 2000 by Bailiff, Bob Vince

What a handsome fella!

Gary Goddard once again, displaying the two biggest of a four carp catch he made

On the opening night of the 2000 season.

These two carp weighed 19lb and 18lb 6oz.

Green lipped mussel flavoured boilies fished on a size 6 hook to 12lb line tempted

The fish from the very popular Eelmoor Flash section.

On the same day Gary also added this tremendous catch of bream to 5lb and one tench

for an estimated catch of 80lb.

Gary caught the fish from the same swim at Eelmoor Flash as the carp featured above,

after switching to waggler fished sweetcorn. Gary presented the bait on a size 14 hook

to 3lb over a bed of trout pellet.
