Member Robert Richbell is the first to send in a few piccies of decent catches in the early season.

A couple of carp I had in around an hour and a half yesterday (Thursday 24 June 2010) in the canal not far from Eelmoor flash.

Both fish taking surface baits, the 1 with the chap with a funny hat was a shade over 17lb, the other was 22lb.

I also missed 2 other good bites and then the 2 adult swans and 6 cygnets arrived so it was time to call it quits.

In case anyone wonders, I was on my knees in the shot so the fish was no more than18 inches above the unhooking mat at anytime.
