Welcome to the Basingstoke Canal Angling Association web site.

The pages within this website will hopefully give you an insight into our activities and aims where angling is concerned on the Basingstoke Canal. These pages should be of interest to anglers and others with waterway interests and we aim to include links to many other interesting sites.

Your views and comments will be gratefully accepted by emailing us at BCAA.

News / Updates

The New Season Is Here!!

At last – the 2008-2009 season has started, as of 16th June.

Get out there and get fishing on the canal.

32 miles of beautiful countryside and meandering waterway, stuffed with a wide variety of coarse fish.

A £20 Adult Season Ticket buys you 24-hour access for 274 days of the year.

That equates to just over 7pence per day!!  Do you know of any other venue for which you would pay just 7 pence per day?

Get out there, and remember to send in your stories and your best catches to the BCAA Secretary, and we will post them onto this website for the whole world to see!

Junior Instruction Day

Work is in progress to prepare and organise another Junior Instruction Day.

This year it will take place on SATURDAY 26th JULY, at the WILLOW PARK FISHERY in Ash.

These have proven immensely popular in the past, and the youngsters get a truly enjoyable  day out

As well as learning lots of tips, and maybe even picking-up a prize or two!

When the fine details are all confirmed, updates will be posted on the website.

In the meantime, if you want to know more, or you know someone who would like to take part,

contact our Head Bailiff Jeff Bunch for more details.

Members Catches & Picture Book

We have updated the picture book section of the website to include a few stories from recent seasons.

This is a section of the website which we would really like to fill with pictures and stories from BCAA members,

Or anybody else who loves the canal and would like to share their canal experiences with us.

Remember – this website is available to anybody, anywhere in the whole world!

So – once the new season gets under way, lets have those pictures rolling in!

BCAA Records

The BCAA specimen records list has not been updated for quite some time.

Please send us notification of any good size fish caught, and if you think you have a record-beater, ensure that

You have a reliable witness, or pictures which can substantiate your declaration of the weight.

We might even start offering prizes for the biggest of each species each season.
